Sonic is his name; speed is his game! Being the most requested third-party character for Smash Brothers, Sonic moves around at supersonic speeds! No one can keep up with him!

SPECIALS:</u>
Standard Special: Homing Attack
Side Special: Spin Dash
Up Special: Spring Jump
Down Special: Spin Charge

Since Brawl is the first smash game Sonic has been in, there is not much to say. He has excellent speed, however, and can run faster than Capitan Falcon! With the bunny hood donned, Sonic can run faster than the race machines on the F-Zero stage from Melee, Big Blue. If you remain idle for a brief period, you may see Sonic wag his index finger (possibly from Sonic 1 or 3), or tap his foot (idle animation in early Sonic games).

PLAYING AS SONIC:
Sonic has a wide variety of speed moves at your disposal, but his speed compensates for the lack of power he has. He has a lack of powerful smashes as well, so how can one win in a situation like this? Use Sonics’ speed to your advantage by using the Spin Dash technique. If you time it right, you can perform combos using a combination of special and regular attacks. For his forward air attack, Sonic twirls around at high speeds, adding damage to opponents very quickly. His behind air attack is a powerful kick that can cause KO’s, so use that in you’re efforts to defeat your opponent. TIP: If you play with the remote + nunchuck setting, hold in your side special, when you feel ready, press and hold the A button. This will make Sonic jump far depending on how long you hold the A button. Keep holding down the B trigger, and you’ll go right into a homing attack. This technique is perfect for playing mind games on opponents.

PLAYING AGAINST SONIC:
Sonic is pure speed, but remember, he is not powerful at all! You have to be really good at avoiding his attacks, so dodge whenever and wherever you can. There is a small amount of time Sonic takes to perform the Homing Attack. Use that to keep him from assaulting you with small attacks. If Sonic uses his Spin Dash move, you can stop it by attacking at the right moment. Using Mario’s fireball move works well if timed right, Sonic will stop and inflict burn damage.

FINAL SMASH: SUPER SONIC</u>
For Sonics’ Final Smash, he uses the limitless powers of the seven Chaos Emeralds to become the mighty, gold Super Sonic. While in this state, Sonic can fly about twice as fast as he could dash in his normal form. Sonic cannot perform any attacks in this state, but he can ram into opponents and cause damage as well. A good thing to remember while unleashing this technique is that Sonic can hurt somebody just as he is turning into his super form. Try to evade this move as much as possible if you can. Sonic is deadly while in this state, and nothing can hurt him at all. If you manage to land a blow on him before he rams you, He’ll pass by you without inflicting any damage. Another tip for Sonic users is to keep moving while in this state. Sonic floats gently down if he isn’t moving at all. The Final Smash only last for about 15 seconds or so, so use this time to really do some damage!

Sonic receives a warm welcome from the Smash Community, and I personally hope to see him again in another Super Smash Bros. game.
